Nokia and Tata Play Fiber have announced their collaboration to introduce India’s pioneering WiFi6-ready broadband network. This partnership will see Nokia, the Finnish tech giant, supplying Tata Play Fiber with state-of-the-art fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and WiFi equipment. This includes advanced tools like optical line terminal (OLT) and optical network terminal (ONT) fortified with WiFi6 and mesh beacons, amplifying the broadband network’s reach across the nation.

What Happened? Anand N Sahai, the CEO of Tata Play Fiber, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing the significance of introducing a WiFi 6-ready network to their clientele. He highlighted the potential of this next-gen optical networking solution in enhancing speed and coverage, especially in tech-savvy households and businesses.

Echoing Sahai’s sentiments, Vinish Bawa from Nokia, underscored Nokia’s global leadership in OLT technologies and expressed pride in strengthening their partnership with Tata Play Fiber in India.

Innovations like WiFi 6, known for its superior indoor connectivity, are pivotal. This technology, adaptable in a mesh router system, promises faster internet, supports tasks requiring low latency, and delivers impressive speeds to multiple devices, all while bolstering network security.

Nokia’s unique mesh technology promises uninterrupted coverage, even in expansive spaces or areas with obstacles like concrete walls. The company also highlighted its AI/ML software’s capability to monitor traffic patterns and preempt potential network issues, ensuring an optimized user experience.
