Mamaearth IPO: Bollywood Star Shilpa Shetty Stands To Make 675% Return On Her Investment

Popular personal and babycare brand Mamaearth is finally coming out with its IPO. The IPO is structured with a price band set between ₹308 and ₹324 per share.

The Mamaearth IPO encompasses an offer for sale (OFS) of approximately 4.12 crore shares, along with a fresh share issuance amounting to a maximum of ₹365 crore. Notably, key stakeholders in the company, including the company’s promoter Varun Alagh, and Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty Kundra as well as several other shareholders, will be divesting their stakes as part of this offer for sale (OFS).

As per the company’s red herring prospectus, Kundra is looking to offload the majority of her 0.52% stake. She looks to divest up to 13.93 lakh shares of the company, which she acquired at an average price of ₹41.86. The acquisition amounts to a total of ₹5.83 crore. Now at the upper band of the IPO, the value of these 13.93 lakh shares would surge up to ₹45.13 crore – an around 674.09% return on investment.

Even after the sale of these shares, Kundra will still own around 2.30 lakh shares of the company. Snapdeal co-founder Kunal Bahl also stands to make a killing as he plans to offload around 11.93 lakh shares of the company, which he had acquired for around ₹3.21.
