Samsung has unveiled its latest tracking device, the Galaxy SmartTag 2, in India. Priced under ₹3,000, this compact, oval-shaped tracker is designed to keep tabs on your essentials, be it keys or luggage.

Design & Features: The SmartTag 2, with its ultrawideband chip, promises enhanced range and precise tracking, a significant upgrade from its predecessor. It also boasts Bluetooth 5.3 support.

The Lost mode, a standout feature, employs NFC to display the SmartTag user’s details on the finder’s device, regardless of whether it’s iOS or Android. This ensures a smoother recovery of misplaced items.

Additionally, features like Compass View, Search Nearby, and Ring Your Tag make locating items a breeze. With a battery life of up to 500 days and a power-saving mode that conserves up to 40% battery, the SmartTag 2 is built to last. It’s also water and dust-resistant, thanks to its IP67 rating.

Price & Availability: Priced at ₹2,799, the SmartTag 2 is available in classic white and black. You can snag one from Amazon, Samsung’s official website, or exclusive Samsung stores. For added flair, choose between silicon cases in multiple hues or opt for a rugged case.

But how does it stack up against its rivals, the Apple AirTag and Reliance Jio’s JioTag? Let’s dive in.

How does it fare against the Apple AirTag and the JioTag?

When pitted against the Apple AirTag, the SmartTag 2 is easier on the wallet. While both trackers offer precision and a range of features, Samsung’s offering edges out with its power-saving mode and extended battery life. On the other hand, the JioTag, as previously reported, offers seamless integration with Jio’s ecosystem, making it a compelling choice for Jio users.

In conclusion, while all three trackers – the SmartTag 2, AirTag, and JioTag – bring their unique strengths to the table, Samsung’s latest seems to strike a balance between performance and price. For those on the hunt for a reliable tracker that doesn’t break the bank, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 might just be the ticket.
