Ride-hailing firm BluSmart‘s innovative ad placements on the seats of its cabs are grabbing the attention of its techy customers. One InsuranceDekho executive even praised what he saw as a clever advertisement for Elon Musk’s biography.
What Happened: Rahul Mathur, associate director at InsuranceDekho, expressed his appreciation for BluSmart's strategic ad placements in their cabs in a tweet on Monday.
He pointed out that BluSmart’s customer base mainly comprises IT, startup and tech-related individuals who would potentially be interested in Walter Isaacson’s biography of Musk, which was advertised in the cabs.
Why It Matters: Mathur also highlighted the importance of such in-vehicle advertisements for BluSmart's revenue generation. According to him, these ads could be a significant source of income for the company, just as Uber earns $500 million (₹4,160 crore) in ad revenue.
The ad placements can be critical for monetization, as Mathur pointed out in his tweets. Unlike Uber, BluSmart has complete control over in-vehicle ads since the vehicles are owned outright by the company. This allows BluSmart to strategically target its audience with specific ads.
