Online storytelling platform Pratilipi, has entered into a multi-series content agreement with Disney Star.

What Happened: The collaboration, announced by Pratilipi on Tuesday, will see it adapt its digital intellectual properties into television shows and broadcast it on Disney Star's platforms, both TV and digital, in multiple languages. This partnership represents the first instance of a television series being formulated from an online self-publishing and audiobook platform.

Pratilipi, which boasts a considerable subscriber base of 1.5 crore readers and listeners, provides a platform for Indian authors to share their stories in the form of short series, audiobooks, and comics. The platform hosts over 1 crore stories.

“Our collaboration with Disney Star is a testament to our continuous commitment to creating multi-format content for a wider audience,” said Ranjeet Pratap Singh, CEO and co-founder of Pratilipi.

Gaurav Bannerjee, Head Content, Disney+Hotstar & HSM Entertainment Network, also expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership and the potential it holds to showcase the work of emerging talents across the country.
