During the month of August, Mahindra & Mahindra achieved its highest sales of SUVs in a month at 37,270 units.
What Happened: The auto giant on Monday reported its model-wise sales and exports data for last month. The company’s flagship Thar sales for the month of August stood at 5,951 units – translating to around 191 Thars sold every day. This is around a 56% jump from the 3,793 Thars the company sold in August 2022.

Despite the impressive numbers, it was not the auto manufacturer’s top-selling model. That was the evergreen Scorpio. The company sold 9,898 Scorpios last month. 9,735 of these were diesel variants. This is a 40% rise from the 7,056 units sold in August 2022.
The second spot was grabbed by Bolero. In August 2023, the company sold a total of 9,092 Boleros, around a 10% increase from the 8,246 units sold in August 2022.
The third spot went to the XUV 700 model, which saw sales of 6,512 units in August.

Price Action: Mahindra & Mahindra’s share price was up 1.04% to trade at ₹1,583.80 in the late hours of trading on Monday.
