Airtel Debuts Country's First Wireless Device That Promises 5G Speeds Over WiFi

Airtel has launched Xstream AirFiber, India's first fixed wireless access (FWA) service powered by Airtel 5G Plus. The service aims to provide a seamless wireless Wi-Fi experience across all regions, with an emphasis on rural areas.

What is Xstream AirFiber? The device is packaged as a portable device that provides wireless internet access. Installation is straightforward: purchase the Xstream AirFiber device, download the Xstream AirFiber app, and pair your devices with it. The device and internet connection can be managed easily through the app.

The device offers improved speed and coverage due to its built-in Wi-Fi 6, providing approximately 50% higher speeds compared to Wi-Fi 5-based routers. It can connect up to 64 devices simultaneously without excessive power consumption.

Airtel Xstream AirFiber Availability and Pricing: The Xstream AirFiber service is available for ₹799 a month, offering speeds up to 100Mbps. You can prepay for the service for six months at ₹4,794 (or at a discounted price of ₹4,435). You’ll also need to pay a refundable security deposit of ₹2,500.

Currently, the service is available in Delhi and Mumbai, with plans for expansion to more regions soon. Residents of these cities can visit Airtel stores to purchase the service.
