Nikhil R. Meswani is the highest-paid employee of India’s biggest conglomerate. Meswani who is Mukesh Ambani‘s cousin drew a salary of ₹25 crore for the year ended March 2023. However, it was only marginally higher than the ₹24 crore he took home in FY2022. The major chunk of the salary was from commissions which stood at ₹17.28 crore.
Mesawani, son of Rasiklal Meswani, started working at Reliance back in 1986. The 57-year-old currently holds the position of executive director at Reliance.
So exactly how much more salary does he make than Reliance’s head honcho? ₹25 crore to be exact. Yes, Ambani has not been drawing any salary from Reliance for the past three years. He had opted to give up his salary back to the company since three years ago in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mukesh Ambani’s wife, Nita Ambani who is also a non-executive director at Reliance Industries took home ₹2.07 crore in FY23.
