Tata Motors Shares Flat As July Sales Numbers Come In

Tata Motors‘ share price traded flat on Tuesday afternoon as the company posted its sales figures for the month of July.

What Happened: The Tata Group company’s total sales for the month of July stood at 80,633 vehicles, slightly below the 81,790 units it sold during July 2022. The number was slightly above Nomura’s estimates of 77,070 units. Domestic sales came in flat at 78,844 units as compared to 78,978 units in the same month last year.

Passenger Vehicle sales were also flat in July 2023 at 47,689 units as against 47,636 units in the year-ago period. EV segment sales grew by 53% to 6,329 units from 4,151 units in July 2022. The commercial vehicle segment saw the sale of 32,944 units down 4% as compared to 34,154 units in July 2022.

Price Action: Tata Motors’ share price was up 0.26% to trade at ₹646 in the late hours of trading on Tuesday.
