Anurag Makade, a Bachelor’s of Technology student from the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Allahabad, landed a top job at Amazon, bagging an annual package of ₹1.25 crore. Anurag proved that a degree from from the highly esteemed IITs, IIMs, and NITs isn’t a the only way to secure a high-paying job.

What To Know: Per a Live Hindustan report, Anurag shared his achievement on LinkedIn, expressing his thrill at joining Amazon as a Frontend Engineer. Originally from Nashik, he attributed his success to continuous hard work and determination.

Prior to working at Amazon, Anurag sharpened his skills as a software engineering intern at Cure-fit in Bengaluru and as an analyst intern at American Express in Gurugram. In September 2022, he began his full-time role as a front-end engineer at Amazon, with the role based in Dublin, Ireland.

Anurag’s success story underlines the global opportunities available to talented individuals, irrespective of the pedigree of their educational institution.

However, it would be unfair to take away from IIIT Allahabad’s impressive placement rounds this season. Pratham Prakash Gupta bagged an astounding ₹1.4 crore package from Google, Palak Mittal also scored a job at Amazon with a package over ₹1 crore, and Akhil Singh secured a position at Rubrik with a ₹1.2 crore package.
