Akshata Murthy, the daughter of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy and the wife of UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, saw a significant increase in her net worth today, thanks to the impressive performance of the Indian IT services firm.
Akshata Murthy owns 1.07% or 38,957,096 shares of Infosys. So, on the previous day, when the stock closed at ₹1,330.30, the value of her holding was ₹5,182.45 crore. Today, after the surge to ₹1,376.80, her stake’s value went up to ₹5,363.61 crore, leading to an increase in Murthy’s wealth by over ₹181 crore.
Today’s rise in Infosys’ stock price aligns with a broader rally in global tech stocks, spurred by a relaxation in U.S. inflation rates. The stock is also upbeat after the positive order flow reported by fellow tech giant TCS in the June quarter and the mostly inline Q1 results.
Price Action: Infosys’ share price was up 2.57% to trade at ₹1,367.60 in the mid-market hours of trading on Thursday.
