Global Instagram Outage: Scroll Freeze Disrupts Users Worldwide

Instagram, is currently experiencing glitches that are affecting thousands of users worldwide. The disruptions are preventing users from viewing videos, stories, and posts on the platform.

The company hasn’t yet disclosed details about the outage. However, many users have taken to Twitter to report an error message on Instagram stating, "Something went wrong. There's an issue and the page could not be loaded."

Downdetector, a tool that monitors service outages, backed by internet performance tracker Ookla, also noted a sudden increase in reports of Instagram malfunctions. The reports began emerging around 10:40 am on June 9.

Just last month, Instagram experienced a similar technical problem that hindered users’ access to the platform. The Meta-owned app promptly acknowledged and resolved the issue. A Meta spokesperson reassured users at that time, stating that the problem was quickly resolved for all those affected.

Earlier this year in March, another service interruption was reported on Meta’s social networking platform. However, Instagram disruptions are typically short-lived, so users can expect to resume watching their friends’ Reels and stories soon.
