According to a recent consumer survey by CyberMedia Research (CMR), a popular tech market research firm, 81% of Indian smartphone users now understand the significance of chipsets in their devices. This knowledge extends beyond the tech-savvy, showing a wider appreciation of chipsets’ role among smartphone users.
What Happened? Surachita Deb Sharma, an analyst at CMR, states in a press release, “Users are spending more time online for content creation, consumption, and gaming. They now demand phones that offer superior gaming and imaging experiences. Hence, they’re starting to recognise the importance of smartphone chipsets in enhancing these experiences. This is the challenge that chipset brands are facing as they strive to meet users’ aspirations.”
Three chipset brands — MediaTek, Qualcomm, and Apple — received equal preference among users, each scoring 58 out of 100. Users prefer these brands because they offer better overall device performance, gaming, and imaging experiences.
