Anand Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra Group, noted that Elon Musk’s greatest contribution to business is not Tesla or SpaceX, but his powerful attitude towards risk.

What Happened? In a tweet, Mahindra voiced his admiration for Musk for not being demotivated by failures and instead considering each experiment as a lesson that will ultimately increase learning and progress.

Mahindra said that when you set up each initiative as a learning experiment, you essentially extend the frontiers of knowledge and progress. Mahindra saluted Musk for his attitude, stating that such failures would terminally daunt most people, but Musk’s capability to move forward following such a failure is remarkable.

The entrepreneur was sharing his thoughts following the initial test flight of SpaceX’s Starship rocket, which experienced quick, unscheduled disassembly minutes into its mission. Despite its dramatic end, Musk and SpaceX had set low expectations about the test flight, with the CEO noting that he would be happy as long as Starship did not blow up the launch pad.

The SpaceX CEO’s capability to move forward after experiencing such a failure is impressive. Mahindra believes that this powerful attitude towards risk is the most important contribution of Musk to business. By doing so, he noted that Musk was an inspiration for entrepreneurs across the globe.
