Bill Gates Met Zerodha's Nithin and Nikhil Kamath For Breakfast: Here's Why

Zerodha co-founder Nithin Kamath lauded billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates after the latter hailed Nithin and his brother for their efforts in the field of sustainability, climate change, and philanthropy.

What Happened? Nithin and Nikhil Kamath, who are known for building one of the largest stock brokerage firms in India caught up with Gates over breakfast recently. Gates posted a tweet on March 5 acknowledging the Zerodha founders for their contributions beyond what is known in the trading world.

"The efforts by Nithin Kamath and Nikhil Kamath in addressing climate change & supporting entrepreneurs are incredible. I'm inspired by the young leaders like them who are championing philanthropy in India," Gates tweeted sharing a photograph of the trio.

Retweeting Gates’ post, Kamath penned down a lengthy note narrating his journey with those over at Rainmatter Foundation — an NGO launched by Zerodha back in early 2021 to fund climate entrepreneurs, and support grassroots individuals and organizations working on solutions for climate change.

“We were lucky to be at the right place and at the right time with the right products and initiatives when the markets grew quickly in the last few years,” tweeted Nithin Kamath.

“This made it possible for us to think about the future and start supporting and partnering with organizations that are tackling pressing issues. This was along with the entrepreneurs we were already backing through Rainmatter Foundation,” he added.

The fintech startup’s founder also calls Gates an "inspiration" and thanked him for finding the time to catch up with them.
