Crypto enthusiasts have been quick to jump on the non-fungible token (NFT) bandwagon, collecting all forms of art including paintings, videos, music, and designs. This isn't just a fad among hobbyists — Indian celebrities have been getting in on the craze too, launching their own digitally-encrypted collectibles.

For the uninitiated, NFTs are crypto digital assets that exist within blockchains like Ethereum ETH/USD , Polygon MATIC/USD and are unique and exclusive. Every NFT comes with its own unique code and it cannot be replicated.

Let's take a deeper dive into some of the Indian celebrities who have been taken by the NFT fever.

Amitabh Bachchan

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan joined the NFT revolution in November 2021, selling the recitation of his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan's iconic poem Madhushala as an NFT.

‘The Big B' NFT collection was launched on the marketplace BeyondLife.club and included autographed posters of "Sholay" along with other memorabilia. The whole collection was sold for a whopping Rs 7.18 crore.

Salman Khan

Not to be left behind was another Bollywood megastar — Salman Khan — whose stardom isn't far behind that of Bachchan. In October 2021, the Dabangg star partnered up with BollyCoin, a Bollywood NFT marketplace, to launch his very own NFT collections, making a huge mark in the NFT space.

In December, the 57-year-old took to Twitter to launch the exclusive NFT space featuring 200 unique NFTs, with 42 of them being movie scenes.

The actor ventured into the world of NFTs, with an immensely popular collection based on his 2007 Tamil action blockbuster Shivaji The Boss. Kamal Haasan

In November 2021, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan announced his foray into the world of NFTs.

The "Vishwaroopam" star partnered with the digital collectibles platform Fantico, to launch his own NFT series. His fans would be able to purchase a wide range of memorabilia and souvenirs from the series. The details of the NFT are still yet to be revealed.
