Before Nykaa, Falguni Nayar was Managing Director and CEO at Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, following nearly two decades at Kotak Mahindra, a top Indian financial organization.
Despite her corporate success, Nayar pursued her passion for beauty by founding Nykaa. Initially an online cosmetics retailer, it expanded to offer fashion, wellness, and home goods.
Nayar faced challenges dispelling e-commerce stereotypes and securing financing for Nykaa. Yet, her perseverance paid off, making Nykaa a household brand in India.
Along with Nykaa, Nayar has received praise for her work in the business realm. She was cited as one of Forbes' Asian Self-Made Women in 2019 and honored as the start-up category's EY Entrepreneur of the Year.
