Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), has bagged a contract from NTPC for the establishment of the 3×800 MW Telangana Stage-II Supercritical Thermal Power Plant.
What Happened: BHEL emerged as the successful bidder for the contract, as per a regulatory filing. The contract involves BHEL’s responsibility for the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, commissioning, and civil construction of the power plant. BHEL has received a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) from NTPC Ltd. to commence the basic engineering work of the Main plant package for this upcoming supercritical thermal power plant.

This project further strengthens the long-standing partnership between BHEL and NTPC, with BHEL contributing to over 57% of NTPC's thermal power installations across the country.
BHEL has installed 1,68,000 MW of utility power capacity installed over India.
In its Q2 results, BHEL posted a net profit of ₹106.15 crore against a net loss of ₹63.01 crore in the previous year. The PSU company’s revenue gained 28.46% to ₹6584.1 crore. The results had surpassed the market’s expectations.
The stock has gained 3.10% since the results came out. Before that the stock had fallen 20% in the previous month.
Price Action: Shares of BHEL were down 1.10% on Tuesday.
